Popular Yatta/KwaVonza MCA, Hon. Mark Nding’o, has expressed dissatisfaction with the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, arguing that it has not solved any of the pressing challenges facing the nation. In a statement, Nding’o asserted that the country’s primary issues have always been poor governance, lack of accountability, tribalism, and rampant corruption, none of which have been addressed in the aftermath of the political move.
“The impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua has not solved any problems,” Nding’o stated. “The main issues we face as a country have always been governance, accountability, tribalism, and corruption, and none has been tackled effectively.”
Nding’o’s remarks come amid a heated national debate over the impact of Gachagua’s impeachment. While some see the move as a step towards political accountability, others, like Nding’o, believe it falls short of addressing the systemic issues that continue to hamper Kenya’s progress.
The MCA stressed that while impeachments may capture public attention, they often fail to tackle the root causes of Kenya’s political instability and socio-economic challenges. He urged leaders to shift focus towards meaningful reforms that would address corruption, promote national unity, and enhance government transparency.
