Kitui County County Assembly’s Sectoral Committee on Agriculture, Water, and Irrigation together with County Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Tours Kitui Show Grounds Ahead of The Kitui Agricultural Show

Kitui CECM for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele today held a brief discussion with Planning and Organizing Committee of Kitui Agricultural show and he later led a tour of the Kitui Show Grounds alongside the County Assembly’s sectoral Committee on Agriculture, Water, and Irrigation. The visit, held in anticipation of the upcoming agricultural show, aimed to assess the preparations for the event.

During the tour, Dr. Kimwele announced that preparations were 95 percent complete thus urging the public to turn out in large numbers to explore and learn about the latest farming technologies.

“This event is a crucial platform for our farmers to gain knowledge and improve their agricultural practices. I encourage everyone to come and take advantage of the resources and information that will be available,” he stated.

Matinyani MCA Hon. Sylvester Munyalo pledged the county Assembly’s commitment in allocating funds for the event in future budgets saying the commitment aims to sustain the annual show and make it a prime attraction for investors.

“By allocating sufficient funds, we are ensuring its sustainability and enhancing it’s appeal to potential investors,” the MCA stated.

His counterpart for Nzambani and Vice Chair of the Agriculture County Assembly Sectoral Committee, Hon. Musyoka Mbite aka Mameni, expressed his satisfaction with the progress. He commended Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s efforts of reviving the show after a six-year hiatus during the previous administration.

“The resumption of this event is a positive step forward for our agricultural sector. The preparations are impressive, and I am optimistic that this show will greatly benefit our farmers, traders and the community at large,” Hon. Mbite remarked.

The agricultural show, set to take place later this month of July as from 25th to 27th, promises to be a pivotal event for the county, featuring various exhibitions, demonstrations, and educational sessions on modern farming techniques and innovations. The in attendance was the honorable Members in the County Assembly Sector Committee on Agriculture, Watèr & Irrigation and Planning & Organizing Committee Members.
