Kitui East parliamentary aspirant Henry Nyamai on Friday, 17th July 2026, joined Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, during an extensive development and project commissioning tour across Mutitu/Kaliku Ward, where several public projects aimed at improving healthcare, education, governance and water access were officially launched.
The tour began at Itiko/Kyaimu Village, where Governor Malombe commissioned newly constructed staff quarters at Itiko Dispensary. The facility is expected to provide decent accommodation for healthcare workers, improve staff retention and ensure residents receive timely and quality medical services.
The delegation also commissioned the Mutitu Vocational Training Centre (VTC), a project designed to strengthen technical and vocational education in the ward. The institution is expected to equip young people with practical skills, enhance employability and support self-reliance through technical training.

In a move aimed at improving service delivery, Governor Malombe officially opened the Mutitu/Kaliku Ward Administration Office Block. The new offices are expected to bring county government services closer to residents while enhancing administrative efficiency and coordination at the ward level.
The development tour further saw the commissioning of the Twin Market Shed at Mutitu Market, which will provide traders with a safer and more organized trading space. The modern facility is expected to promote business growth, improve market operations and boost economic activities within the ward.
The governor and his entourage later commissioned the Ikoo-Misululuni Borehole Water Project at Kalua, a major investment expected to ease water shortages by providing residents with reliable access to clean and safe water for both domestic use and livestock, significantly improving livelihoods in the area.

The tour concluded with the commissioning of a new maternity ward at Manyoeni Dispensary, a facility expected to enhance maternal and child healthcare services. Speaking during the tour, Henry Nyamai praised the county governmentโs continued investment in development projects, saying the initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the lives of Kitui East residents through better healthcare, education, water supply and public service delivery.
