On July 17, 2026 – Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai on Friday joined senior UDA leaders at a major economic empowerment forum held at Kiio Market in Mwingi West Constituency, where hundreds of women and men groups received financial support to boost their businesses and improve household incomes.
The event, hosted by Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna Ngusya (CNN), brought together grassroots groups from across the constituency in what leaders described as a renewed commitment to promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance through direct support to community-based enterprises.
Speaking during the forum, Dr. Nyamai said empowering organized groups with financial assistance is a practical way of stimulating local economies, creating opportunities for families, and improving livelihoods. She reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that uplift communities and enhance economic resilience.
The event also attracted several prominent leaders, including KRA Commissioner Ben Muasya, State House Programmes Coordinator Boniface Musambi, former Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Katisya, a number of Members of the County Assembly, and other political leaders.
Leaders at the forum called for continued collaboration in supporting grassroots development, noting that empowering community groups remains key to driving sustainable economic growth across Kitui County. They pledged to continue championing programmes that expand business opportunities, increase household incomes, and build stronger, self-reliant communities.
