Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna Urges DCP Leaders to Embrace Progressive Politics

KANGALU, KITUI CENTRAL, July 31, 2026 – Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has called on leaders affiliated with the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) to refrain from excessive celebrations and actions that could fuel political tensions following the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election victory.

Speaking during an Empowerment and Public Engagement Event held at Kangalu Primary School in Mulango Ward, Kitui Central Constituency, Nguna said Kenya requires progressive leadership focused on development, unity and service delivery rather than political confrontation.

The event was hosted by Boniface Musambi, who is seeking the Kitui Central parliamentary seat in 2027, and chaired by Kitui South MP Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai.

Several leaders attended the forum, including PS Jonathan Mueke, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, Commissioner Ben Muasya, former CS Peninah Malonza, Kitui Rural MP John Kisangau, Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya, and other national and county leaders.

Nguna urged political leaders across the country to prioritize peaceful engagement and issue-based politics, saying Kenyans are looking for leaders who will champion development and improve the lives of citizens rather than deepen political divisions.
