Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo on Friday joined senior UDA leaders in an intensified grassroots mobilization campaign at Twimyua Market in Kyuso Ward, Mwingi North Constituency, where leaders rallied residents to continue supporting President William Ruto’s administration and its development agenda. The meeting formed part of a wider series of public engagements aimed at strengthening the party’s presence across Kitui County.
The delegation was led by Kitui South MP Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, who said the leaders were engaging directly with wananchi to explain key national government projects being implemented in the region. She emphasized that sustained collaboration with the national government would accelerate infrastructure, education, water, health and economic empowerment initiatives across Kitui.
Addressing residents, Speaker Kinengo reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the national government’s development agenda, saying leaders must work together to ensure ongoing projects are completed for the benefit of local communities. He urged residents to continue backing the Kenya Kwanza administration, arguing that unity between elected leaders and the national government would unlock more development opportunities for the county.
The event brought together a host of national and local leaders, including Public Service Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, Senator Beth Syengo, former Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza, Hon. Joe Mutambu, Hon. Charles Mwalimu, and State House Coordinator of Programmes Bonnie Musambi. Their presence underscored UDA’s renewed efforts to consolidate support in the Ukambani region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Also in attendance were Tharaka MCA and Deputy Majority Whip Hon. Muthengi Ndagara, Nominated MCAs Deborah Mutuku, Ciambutra Karigi and Esther Ndile, among other leaders. The leaders pledged to sustain grassroots engagement across Kitui, insisting that continuous public participation and close collaboration with the national government remain essential to delivering transformative development projects to the people.
