The succession battle for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat is steadily gathering momentum, with Kyangwithya West MCA and Kitui County Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon. Nzilu Nzioka increasingly emerging as a name to watch. His growing popularity across the four wards of Kitui Central has sparked fresh conversations about the kind of leadership residents want ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nzioka has continued to receive praise from residents who describe him as a down-to-earth leader, accessible and committed to the welfare of ordinary people. Supporters say his grassroots approach and direct engagement with residents have helped him build a strong connection across the constituency.
A lawyer by profession, popularly known as Wakili Nzilu, Nzioka has also earned recognition for offering free legal assistance to vulnerable residents who cannot afford legal services. His supporters argue that the initiative demonstrates a commitment to public service, saying he has used his professional skills to help people rather than treating them purely as a means of making money.
Businessman Mulwa, who spoke in Kitui town, described Christopher Nzilu as the ultimate heir to the Kitui Central parliamentary seat, arguing that he possesses the potential to take the constituency’s aspirations beyond its borders. “Don’t elect someone who is retiring, elect someone who can become something in future,” Mulwa stated.
With the 2027 political contest beginning to take shape, Nzilu’s growing visibility could make the Kitui Central race increasingly competitive. His supporters believe his experience in county leadership, legal background and grassroots networks could position him as a formidable contender as residents weigh their options for the constituency’s next MP.
