Kitui County Assembly Set to Consider Report on Recruitment of New Clerk

The Kitui County Assembly is set to consider the report of the County Assembly Service Board on the recruitment process for the position of Clerk of the County Assembly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The development follows the conclusion of interviews conducted by the County Assembly Service Board on Monday, August 3, 2026, to identify a suitable candidate for the key administrative position.

During the afternoon sitting on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Vice-Chairperson of the County Assembly Service Board, Hon. Jacquelyne Cate Kalenga (Nominated), issued a Notice of Motion seeking the adoption of the Board’s recruitment report.

The motion is anchored on the provisions of Section 13(1) of the County Governments Act, 2012, Section 18(2) of the County Assembly Services Act, 2017, and Standing Order Nos. 42(4) and 179(6) of the County Assembly of Kitui.

The House is scheduled to debate and make a decision on the report during a special sitting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., paving the way for the next stage in the appointment of the Clerk of the County Assembly.
