Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Racheal Nyamai on Friday joined her Mwingi West counterpart, Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna (CNN), for a major women empowerment and public engagement forum held at Ngongoni in Ngutani Ward, Mwingi West Constituency.
The forum brought together hundreds of residents, women, youth, community representatives and political leaders, providing an opportunity for the leaders to interact directly with the people and discuss development priorities affecting the region.
In her address, Dr. Nyamai praised President William Samoei Ruto for what she described as bold and transformative decisions aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans. She highlighted interventions in education, infrastructure, healthcare and agriculture as some of the key areas where the government is implementing major reforms.
On education, Nyamai pointed to the employment of teachers and the new university funding model, saying the measures are intended to strengthen the education sector and expand opportunities for learners from different backgrounds.
She also highlighted infrastructure development, including road construction and the Affordable Housing Programme, saying the projects are creating economic opportunities while improving connectivity and living conditions for communities.
On healthcare, the Kitui South MP commended the rollout of Universal Health Coverage through Taifa Care and the Social Health Authority (SHA), while in agriculture she cited subsidized fertilizer and government support to farmers as important interventions aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and improving household livelihoods.
Dr. Nyamai attended the forum alongside Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai, Senator Hon. Beth Syengo, Hon. Penina Malonza, Hon. Joe Mutambu, Hon. Martha Mati and Hon. Esther Ndile, among other leaders. The leaders called for continued public engagement and cooperation in advancing development across Ukambani as residents voiced their views and expectations on government programmes.
