Kyuasini Market in Mutha Ward came alive this evening as hundreds of residents thronged the venue to welcome Governor Julius Malombe, who commissioned a new market as part of his administration’s ongoing development drive across Kitui County.
The Governor’s arrival turned the usually busy trading centre into a hive of activity, with enthusiastic residents lining the streets and gathering at the market to celebrate the latest development project.
In an exciting moment, Governor Malombe went on a shopping spree inside the market where the mama mbogas excitedly sold their items to the governor and his team.
He interacted with the traders and residents while sampling goods from local traders.
The scenes reflected the growing excitement among residents over the rollout of development projects by the Governor’s administration, with water, health, roads, markets and other projects being implemented across the 40 wards.
Governor Malombe noted that the new Kyuasini market shed is expected to provide traders with a more conducive environment to conduct their businesses while improving the appearance and functionality of the trading centre.
Kyuasini Residents said the project was a welcome intervention, particularly for small-scale traders who depend on the market for their livelihoods.
Every Friday, the Governor moves to the Wards to commission already completed projects that impact people’s lives positively.
In Mutha Ward alone, the county government has rolled out 111 projects touching on key sectors including water, health, roads, markets and Early Childhood Development Education among others.
