Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has called for closer collaboration between the County Executive and County Assembly as the county enters the final year of the 2022–2027 administration.
Speaking in Mombasa during the joint County Executive–County Assembly consultative sessions, Malombe said the engagement provides an opportunity to assess the achievements of the Kitui Promise, identify gaps and agree on priorities for the remaining year
“Government is ultimately about people. Budgets, policies, projects, programmes and institutions have meaning only when they improve the quality of life of the citizens we serve,” the Governor said.
Malombe said his administration had made significant progress across various sectors, with projects implemented across the county. He urged the two arms of government to strengthen coordination, complete ongoing programmes and maintain accountability and professionalism.
County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya said the focus should now shift towards implementing and completing ongoing projects, addressing stalled programmes and improving service delivery to residents.
The consultative meeting brings together Members of the County Assembly and senior county officials to review the administration’s progress since 2022 and agree on key priorities for its final year.
