Kitui South MP Dr Racheal Nyamai on Friday joined former MP Joe Mutambu for a special empowerment programme targeting mama mbogas at Mathyakani in Mwingi Central, bringing together leaders to support small-scale traders.
Nyamai used the occasion to highlight President William Ruto’s development agenda in Kitui County, pointing to ongoing road construction, road upgrades in Kitui Rural, affordable housing projects and subsidised fertiliser aimed at supporting farmers and improving agricultural production.
She said empowering small-scale traders, particularly women, was an important part of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, noting that supporting mothers in business could benefit entire families and communities.
The event was attended by Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, nominated Senator Beth Syengo, former Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza, Hon. Martha Mati and Kitui Central MP hopeful Bonnie Musambi, among other leaders.
Nyamai thanked residents of Mwingi Central for their warm reception during the empowerment programme.
