Speaker Kinengo Joins National and County Leaders at National Prayer Breakfast.Thursday, 28th May 2026The Speaker of the Kitui County Assembly, Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, earlier today joined other national and county leaders at the 23rd Annual National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi County. The event brought together leaders from across the country to pray for the nation and reflect on the values of unity, peace, and leadership.Held under the theme “Forgiveness and Reconciliation,” drives from the book of Mathew 6:14-15, speakers at the event called for tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and national unity as the country prepares for next year’s General Election.The keynote speaker, Hon. Chris Rwakasisi, Senior Presidential Advisor to the President of Uganda, shared a powerful testimony on the importance of forgiveness even in moments of suffering and oppression. His message resonated strongly with the congregation and emphasized the need for reconciliation in leadership and society.On his part, President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, who was the Chief Guest, also underscored the importance of forgiveness and urged leaders to embrace unity and servant leadership for the prosperity of the nation.As part of the annual tradition where counties nominate children (one boy and one girl), each aged 10 years, to represent them at the national event, Kitui County was proudly represented by Victor Nzoka and Juliana Kennedy, both pupils from Muslim Comprehensive School in Kitui Town.Speaker Kinengo who accompanied the two pupils to the event, took the opportunity to encourage them to remain disciplined, work hard in school, and become responsible future leaders capable of transforming society. He noted that education, integrity, and patriotism are key pillars in building a better Kenya for future generations.The two pupils joined their peers from across the country in being commissioned as “Kenya’s Ambassadors to the Future.” In a symbolic and emotional moment. They are expected to return to the same stage in 50 years’ time when they will be 60 years old to sing the National Anthem and give an account of Kenya’s progress in achieving unity, peace, and shared prosperity.Other leaders present at the event included Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Chief Justice Martha Koome, Speakers of the Bicameral Parliament Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula and Hon. Amason Kingi, Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Parliament, and other senior government officials.
