A group of former councillors and mayors from Kitui East Constituency have unanimously endorsed Ambassador Kiema Kilonzo’s bid for the Kitui East parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
The endorsement was made during a meeting hosted by Ambassador Kiema Kilonzo at his home, where veteran local leaders gathered to discuss the constituency’s political future and development agenda.
The leaders expressed confidence in Ambassador Kiema’s leadership credentials, citing his extensive experience in public service, diplomacy, and community development. They described him as a capable leader who can effectively champion the interests of Kitui East residents at the national level.
Among those who endorsed his candidature were former Mayor Muluvi, former Mayor Mbandi, Cllr Mutati, Cllr Nzyulo, Cllr Tsunami, Cllr Kilonzi, Cllr Manguye, Cllr Syengo, Cllr Kiluku, Cllr Mutio, Cllr Kombo, and Sindanono, among other local leaders.
Speaking during the meeting, the leaders pledged to rally support for Ambassador Kiema Kilonzo across the constituency, saying they believe he possesses the vision and leadership needed to drive development and improve service delivery in Kitui East.
The endorsement marks a significant boost for Ambassador Kiema’s 2027 parliamentary ambitions as political alignments continue to take shape ahead of the next General Election.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for consultations on key issues affecting residents, with participants emphasizing the need for unity and collective efforts towards the constituency’s growth and prosperity.
