The advocates point to Dr. Mulu’s fifteen-year tenure as Member of Parliament for Kitui Central, during which he has earned recognition for effective management of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF). They argue that his experience in public finance and development planning has enabled him to spearhead key projects in education, infrastructure, and community development within the constituency.
Supporters also cite remarks previously made by Rigathi Gachagua, who publicly praised Dr. Mulu’s integrity, claiming he resisted financial inducements linked to political maneuvering. They further highlight his professional background with the United Nations, where he served in project management and financial advisory roles before entering elective politics.
As political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election gathers momentum, Dr. Mulu’s backers maintain that his expertise in economics and public finance makes him well-positioned to lead Kitui County’s next phase of development.
