On July 21, 2026 – Incoming Kitui Senator hopeful Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele on Tuesday joined Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, in hosting leaders of the Kitui County Universities and Colleges Students Association (KUCSA) for a consultative meeting organized through the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Youth, ICT, Sports and Social Services.
The meeting served as a platform for dialogue on issues affecting university and college students, with discussions focusing on strengthening collaboration between the County Government and student leadership. The leaders explored practical strategies to empower young people and enhance their participation in the county’s development agenda.
Key areas of engagement included agriculture, livestock development, education, ICT and innovation, entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, and youth mentorship. The participants underscored the need to equip young people with relevant skills, innovation, and access to opportunities that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to Kitui County’s socio-economic transformation.
Governor Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives, while Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele emphasized the importance of investing in young leaders as drivers of sustainable development.
