Mp Racheal Nyamai Rallies Kitui Residents to Back President Ruto’s Development Agenda

Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai has urged residents of Kitui County to support President William Ruto’s development agenda, saying the region stands to benefit more from government development programmes than from opposition politics.

Speaking during economic empowerment forums held at Matinyani and Kiusyani, Dr. Nyamai called on wananchi to prioritize development over political rhetoric. She criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over remarks she claimed could discourage tourists and investors from visiting the country, urging leaders to exercise responsibility when making public statements.

Nyamai, who chairs the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Caucus, noted that many Kenyans, including a significant number of Kamba people, earn their livelihoods from the tourism sector, particularly in Mombasa. She said any statements that damage Kenya’s image risk affecting thousands of jobs and businesses that depend on tourism.

The legislator further appealed to the people of Kitui to rally behind President Ruto’s re-election bid, arguing that his administration is committed to transforming the country through infrastructure development, economic empowerment and service delivery.

The events were attended by Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, Commissioner Benedict Muasya, who is seeking the Kitui West parliamentary seat in 2027, Kitui Rural MP aspirant Mbaki Mbaki, Senator Beth Syengo, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Katisya, Madam Esther Ndile, Penina Malonza, Kitui Central MP aspirant Boniface Musambi, several Members of the County Assembly and other local leaders.
