Ben Muasya Pushes Kalinditi Location Gazettement, Rural Electrification During Kitui West Ceremony

KITUI WEST, Aug. 1, 2026 — Commissioner Benedict Muasya has reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development in Kitui West after joining family, friends and residents during the traditional Ruracio ceremony of Charles Mulila at Kalinditi.

Speaking during the event, Muasya said the ceremony was not only an opportunity to celebrate an important cultural milestone but also to engage residents on key development initiatives affecting the area. He updated the community on the ongoing efforts to have Kalinditi officially gazetted as a fully-fledged location, saying the move would improve the delivery of government services to local residents.

The Commissioner also highlighted the ongoing Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) programme aimed at expanding electricity connectivity across the area. In addition, he pledged continued support for the improvement of facilities at the Mutini Chief’s Office to enhance public service delivery and administrative efficiency.

Muasya further invited residents to attend the upcoming Women Empowerment Programme scheduled for Monday at Katutu, emphasizing that sustainable development goes beyond physical infrastructure and must also focus on empowering people, creating opportunities and strengthening livelihoods.

He reiterated his commitment to working closely with the people of Kitui West to deliver meaningful and inclusive development.
