Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai on Friday, August 14, 2026, led an empowerment and public engagement forum at Kavisu Market in Kavisuni, Kitui Rural, bringing together hundreds of residents and leaders for discussions on development, empowerment and community welfare.
The forum was hosted by Kitui Rural MP aspirant Hon. John Kisangau, popularly known as “Mbaki Mbaki,” who brought together residents for what was described as a vibrant platform for community engagement and empowerment. The gathering attracted a wide range of leaders, including PS Jonathan Mueke, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu and Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna “CNN.”
Other leaders who attended the forum included former Kitui Governor Penina Malonza, Hon. Boniface Musambi, Hon. Benedict Muasya, Hon. Beth Syengo, Hon. Martha Mati, Hon. Esther Ndile and Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nyamai commended the host for bringing residents together and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting empowerment programmes aimed at improving livelihoods. She emphasized the importance of leaders working together and maintaining close engagement with citizens in addressing challenges affecting local communities.
Dr. Nyamai further underscored unity, effective service delivery and sustainable development as key pillars in transforming communities across Kitui. The forum provided an opportunity for residents and leaders to interact directly, discuss development priorities and strengthen cooperation ahead of the 2027 General Election. The event was marked by calls for continued grassroots engagement and practical initiatives that improve the lives of ordinary residents.
