H.E. Kanani was representing Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, at the programme, which targets 16 counties, including Kitui, marking another key milestone in advancing inclusive industrialization and economic transformation across the country.

The event, which was organised by the Council of Governors (CoG) led by its Chairperson, H.E. FCPA Ahmed Abdullahi, and hosted by H.E. President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, seeks to address implementation and sustainability challenges and operationalise the parks.

CAIPs, such as the one in Kanyonyoo in Kitui along the Thika–Mwingi–Garissa Road, continue to position the county as a centre for value addition, agro-processing, manufacturing, and investment growth, while creating sustainable employment opportunities and strengthening Kenya’s transition towards a production-driven economy.

During the ceremony, the Trade Intergovernmental Framework was also signed between the two levels of government, signalling a commitment to strengthen coordination on trade matters, enhance market access, and improve competitiveness for goods produced within the industrial parks.

Other senior officials from Kitui County who were present included Trade CECM Ms. Rose Mutuku and Kitui County Attorney Mr. Timothy Kyalo, among others.
