Kitui MP Disburses KSh 8.7 Million in Emergency Funds to Schools and Security Projects

Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai has disbursed KSh 8.7 million in emergency funds to support critical education and security projects across the constituency. The funds were released on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, under her patronage and leadership as part of efforts to address urgent community needs.

The emergency allocation has benefited 16 primary schools, including Memboo, Enzou, Malumini, Kilisa, Kathingu, Ivukuvuku, Kandae, Kivyuni, Musikio, Syomithumo, Kituvwi, Mwangu Ivuti, Ngunga, Kaliluni, Windundu and Kengo. The funding is expected to improve learning conditions by addressing pressing infrastructure challenges in the institutions.

Four secondary schools also received support through the programme. The beneficiaries are Kilawa Secondary School, Yaathi Secondary School, Kiangu Secondary School and Makele Secondary School, with the funds earmarked for emergency interventions aimed at enhancing the learning environment for students.

In the security sector, the emergency funds have been directed towards the improvement of Kibwea Chief’s Office, Ikanga Chief’s Office and Mutomo Police Station. The projects are intended to strengthen security services and improve the working environment for officers serving residents of Kitui South.

Dr. Nyamai said the emergency funding programme is designed to respond swiftly to urgent needs affecting schools and security institutions, ensuring that essential services continue without disruption. She noted that investing in education and security remains a key priority for the constituency’s development.

The legislator reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that resources are distributed fairly across all parts of Kitui South, adding that development initiatives will continue to focus on improving the welfare of residents through better public infrastructure and services.

Residents and beneficiaries welcomed the disbursement, saying the funds will help address long-standing challenges in schools and security facilities. The initiative forms part of the MP’s broader development agenda under the slogan #Kazi_Iendelee, which emphasizes sustained investment in education, security and community development.
