Kitui West parliamentary aspirant Benedict Muasya has reiterated that a leader’s greatest legacy is measured by the lives they empower rather than the crowds they attract. Speaking during a Women Empowerment Programme held on Friday at Kwa Mukoma Grounds in Matinyani, Muasya said meaningful leadership is about creating opportunities that improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
The event, organized by UDA leaders, attracted more than 10,000 residents from across Kitui West Constituency. The forum focused on supporting women’s economic empowerment, with over 20 women groups receiving assistance aimed at strengthening their income-generating activities and improving household livelihoods.
Muasya described the large turnout as a demonstration of the community’s commitment to development and inclusive growth. He said empowering women remains one of the most effective ways of strengthening families, stimulating local economies, and building resilient communities.
He further noted that leadership should be defined by service and impact rather than positions of authority. According to Muasya, creating opportunities for residents to succeed is the foundation of sustainable development and long-term prosperity for Kitui West.
The MP hopeful pledged to continue working with residents and fellow leaders to advance empowerment initiatives across the constituency. He expressed confidence that through collective effort, Kitui West can become a constituency where every family has an opportunity to thrive and achieve economic stability.
