Political momentum around the 2027 succession has continued to build in Ukambani after Yatta kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o issued a strong statement calling for united support behind Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking exclusively with TCD digital the MCA said the “game is set” and described Kalonzo as the region’s central presidential choice, urging leaders across Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos counties to consolidate their support behind his bid.
He further emphasized that unity within the Wiper Democratic Movement Wiper Democratic Movement and the broader Ukambani leadership would be key in strengthening Kalonzo’s national competitiveness ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, Hon. Nding’o warned against divisions within the region, stating that “anyone working against Kalonzo Musyoka’s bid is an enemy of the people,” a comment that is likely to stir debate within local political circles.
The statement comes at a time when early campaign positioning is intensifying across the country, with regional leaders increasingly declaring support for preferred presidential contenders as Kenya moves closer to the 2027 general election.
