President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted leaders from Kitui and Machakos counties at State House, Nairobi, where they reviewed the progress of priority development projects aimed at accelerating socio-economic transformation in the region. The meeting focused on fast-tracking investments in water infrastructure, unlocking agricultural potential, expanding affordable housing, developing modern markets, and ensuring timely implementation of government projects.
Among the Kitui leaders present were Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai, and Commissioner Benedict Muasya, who is seeking the Kitui West parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election. The leaders joined the President in deliberating on strategies to enhance development and improve service delivery across the Lower Eastern region.
President Ruto said the meeting also resolved to unite leaders across the political divide behind a common development agenda that creates jobs, expands economic opportunities, and improves the livelihoods of wananchi. He emphasized that collaboration among leaders is key to ensuring the successful delivery of transformative projects for the benefit of all Kenyans.
