John Makau Receives Widespread Endorsement for Mwingi Central MP Seat Ahead of 2027 Elections

The race for Mwingi Central parliamentary seat is taking shape as decorated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) John Makau gains significant grassroots support. Residents from Kivou, Waita, Nguni, and Central wards have endorsed Makau, urging him to contest in the 2027 general elections.

Makau, a well-known professional and a close ally of Wiper Party leader H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, has been steadily winning the confidence of the electorate. His growing influence has reportedly unsettled the incumbent MP, Hon. Gideon Mulyungi, who is facing mounting opposition from local leaders and constituents.

According to political analysts, Makau’s rising popularity stems from his reputation as a humble and development-oriented leader, in contrast to MP Mulyungi, who has been at odds with several key leaders in Kitui County. Among those Mulyungi has clashed with include Governor Julius Malombe, Kitui Women Representative Irene Kasalu, MPs Charles Nguna (Mwingi West), Paul Nzengu (Mwingi North), and Senator Enoch Wambua.

With the 2027 elections fast approaching, the battle for Mwingi Central is expected to intensify. Many residents believe that Makau’s leadership style aligns with their aspirations, and his growing support base could pose a serious challenge to the incumbent MP’s re-election bid.

Observers now wait to see if Makau will officially declare his candidacy and how the political landscape in Mwingi Central will evolve in the coming months.
