Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has signed into law the Kiambu County Budget for the 2026/2027 Financial Year, unlocking a KSh 25.1 billion spending plan that places major focus on infrastructure development, healthcare expansion, agriculture, and education. The budget sets aside KSh 8.5 billion for development projects, signaling the county administration’s push to accelerate service delivery and economic growth.

The newly assented budget is expected to drive implementation of key projects across the county, with road infrastructure emerging as the biggest beneficiary after receiving KSh 4.5 billion. The allocation is expected to support construction, upgrading, and rehabilitation of roads aimed at improving transport networks and opening up economic opportunities in different parts of Kiambu.

Healthcare has also received a major boost, with KSh 750 million allocated for equipping and operationalizing more hospitals to strengthen access to medical services. The county government says the investment will help improve healthcare delivery and expand capacity in public health facilities to serve the growing population.

Agriculture, a key economic pillar in Kiambu County, has been allocated KSh 816 million to support food production and farmer-focused initiatives. Meanwhile, the education sector received KSh 667 million to enhance learning infrastructure and support programs aimed at improving educational outcomes across the county.

The signing of the budget now clears the path for implementation of development priorities in the new financial year, with residents expected to closely monitor delivery of the promised projects and the impact of public spending on communities across Kiambu County.
