Kisasi Member of County Assembly Hon. Nicholus Mutemi on Wednesday led the commissioning of the already excavated Kinyeki Earth Dam in Mosa Village, in a move aimed at improving water access for residents and livestock in the area.
The event brought together community members, sub-county administrators and ward administrators, who lauded the County Government of Kitui for funding the vital water project.
Speaking during the commissioning exercise, Hon. Mutemi said the earth dam will help address persistent water shortages that have affected families and farmers in Kisasi Ward for years. He noted that the county government remains committed to implementing development projects that directly improve the livelihoods of local communities.
The MCA further emphasized the importance of investing in sustainable water projects, saying the dam will not only provide water for domestic use and livestock but also support farming activities and environmental conservation.
Residents welcomed the project, describing it as a major relief that will reduce the long distances travelled in search of water, especially during the dry season.
Local administrators who attended the event praised the collaboration between the county government and the community in ensuring successful implementation of development initiatives across the ward.
