Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS, Member of Parliament for Kitui Central and a leading gubernatorial hopeful for Kitui County in 2027, spent the day engaged in a series of meaningful events that underscored his deep commitment to community service, spiritual leadership, and compassion.

Celebrating Six Decades of Red Cross Service

Dr. Mulu kicked off the day by joining in the celebrations marking 60 years of the Kenya Red Cross Society. The event, held under the theme “A Healthy Mind is Community Friendly,” emphasized mental wellness as a pillar of vibrant communities. The MP lauded the organization’s six decades of humanitarian service and pledged continued support for initiatives promoting health and dignity for all.

“The Red Cross has been a symbol of hope during crises. We must continue supporting mental health efforts across our county and nation,” Dr. Mulu remarked.

Spiritual Milestone at ACK St. Martin Cathedral

The MP then proceeded to the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) St. Martin – Kitui Diocese, where he participated in the sacred Passover ceremony, transitioning from the old cathedral to the newly built sanctuary. The emotional moment was marked by praise, thanksgiving, and a renewed spiritual vision for the community.

“As we move into this new place of worship, we carry with us the values of unity, faith, and purpose,” he noted.

Paying Tribute in Kyangwithya West

Later in the day, Dr. Mulu joined residents of Unyaaa village in Kyangwithya West to celebrate the life of the late Teresia Syombua Muthui. He offered his condolences to the family, praising the late Syombua for her contribution to her family and the community.

“In moments of loss, we stand together in solidarity and love,” Dr. Mulu said, assuring continued presence and support to the bereaved.

With each step, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu reaffirmed his enduring commitment to walk with the people of Kitui — in faith, in service, and in compassion.
