Changes Rock Presidential Escort Unit as DIG Eliud Lagat Reshuffles Senior Officers

The Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Eliud Lagat, has announced a major reshuffle within the Presidential Escort Unit (PEU), affecting several senior officers in a move aimed at strengthening operations within the elite security unit.

In the changes, Mr. Noah Kirwa Mayo has been transferred from his position as Commandant of the PEU to the Kenya Police Headquarters Vigilance Unit. Mr. Judah Matthews, who served as Deputy Commandant of the PEU, has also been moved and will proceed on leave pending his retirement from service.

Mr. William Sawe has been appointed the new Commandant of the Presidential Escort Unit after serving as the Commanding Officer of the Recce Sub-Unit. Mr. George Kirera has meanwhile been elevated from Staffing Officer Personnel at the PEU to Deputy Commandant of the unit. In other changes, Mr. Josphat Sirma has been promoted from Deputy CO Recce Sub-Unit to Commanding Officer of the Recce Sub-Unit, while Mr. Rere Kipkoech has been transferred from Deputy SOB One to the Kenya Police Headquarters Vigilance Unit.
