The growing presence of Bonnie Musambi on the ground in Kitui Central Constituency is reportedly causing political jitters among his opponents as the race for the parliamentary seat gradually gains momentum. Musambi, popularly known as “Nzeve Nzau,” has in recent weeks intensified his grassroots engagements, drawing significant attention from both supporters and rivals.

According to political observers, Musambi’s rising popularity is causing sleepless nights among some of his opponents who are allegedly sponsoring radio interviews and Facebook posts aimed at attacking his character. The online and media campaigns are believed to be part of efforts to counter his growing influence across the constituency.
For the past four weeks, Musambi has been moving across different wards meeting grassroots supporters, community elders, youth leaders and opinion shapers. His meetings have largely focused on listening to residents’ concerns and discussing development priorities affecting the constituency.
Supporters say the strategy of direct engagement with voters has strengthened his connection with the electorate. They argue that the wave of criticism circulating on radio talk shows and social media platforms is a reaction to the momentum he has built on the ground.
Musambi, often referred to by supporters as the “son of Mulango,” currently works at the State House Nairobi and is increasingly being mentioned as a serious contender for the Kitui Central Constituency parliamentary seat. According to local political grapevine, he is already perceived to be ahead of other aspiring candidates as early political alignments begin to take shape.
