The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, John Mbadi, has appointed Hon. Adan Abdulla Mohamed as the new Commissioner General of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
In a statement issued following the appointment, Mbadi described Mohamed as a leader of exemplary integrity, noting that his selection reflects a strong track record of distinguished service to the nation.
“As you assume this important national responsibility, I wish you great success, wisdom and fortitude in steering the Kenya Revenue Authority towards enhanced efficiency, strengthened revenue mobilization and improved service delivery for the benefit of our country,” Mbadi stated.
The Treasury CS expressed confidence that Mohamed will play a pivotal role in advancing KRA’s mandate, particularly in improving tax collection systems and fostering a more responsive and accountable institution.
Mbadi also extended his appreciation to the government under President William Samoei Ruto for its continued commitment to appointing capable and visionary leaders to key public offices.
The appointment comes at a time when the government is intensifying efforts to boost domestic revenue collection to support national development priorities and reduce reliance on external borrowing.
Mohamed is expected to take over leadership at KRA immediately, ushering in a new phase aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and taxpayer services across the country.
