Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been honoured with the Honorary Peace Award by the Mwamko Mpya Peace Initiative in recognition of his lifelong commitment to peace, unity, and national cohesion.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Kalonzo said he was deeply honoured to receive the recognition, noting that peace has remained the defining thread throughout his public service career. He thanked the movement’s leadership, particularly Chairperson Khadijah Theuri, who also serves as the Party Leader of Nyayo za Umoja Party, for their vision and dedication towards peace building in the country.

Kalonzo highlighted his mediation efforts across the region, including peace missions in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia. He also cited his role as Kenya’s Special Envoy to the Republic of South Sudan, saying the recognition reaffirmed the shared responsibility of leaders in safeguarding national harmony and cohesion.
The event brought together several leaders allied to the Wiper Patriotic Front fraternity, among them Justin Muturi, Wavinya Ndeti, Mohammed Ali, Enoch Wambua, Makali Mulu, Dan Maanzo and Gideon Mulyungi, whose presence Kalonzo described as a testament to the collective commitment towards peace and national unity.
