The sand dam constructed at Makusya, Kwa Julius Mbuvi, was officially handed over today in a brief site ceremony attended by local leaders and community representatives. The project, which was completed in a record one week, was praised for its efficiency and quality of work by the contractor.
Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Mark Nding’o commended the swift execution of the project, noting that timely delivery of such water infrastructure is critical in improving water access for residents. He highlighted that the sand dam will play a key role in water conservation and support both domestic and small-scale farming activities in the area.
Residents expressed optimism that the new facility will help reduce water shortages, especially during dry seasons, and improve livelihoods. Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting similar community-driven water projects across the ward to enhance resilience against drought.
