Racheal Nyamai on Wednesday joined residents and leaders from across Kitui County during a public participation forum on the proposed FY 2026/2027 national budget held at Kitui Multipurpose Hall.
The forum brought together Members of the National Assembly Budget Committee, among them Danson Mwashako, Makali Mulu and Paul Nzengu, alongside local leaders and wananchi who shared their development priorities and concerns.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Nyamai said she was encouraged by the active participation of residents from Kitui South who proposed key projects including improvement of roads, construction of earth dams and expansion of electricity connectivity to enhance livelihoods and service delivery in the region.
She noted that public participation remains an important pillar in ensuring wananchi’s voices are reflected in the national budgeting process and in shaping the development agenda of local communities.
