CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF KITUI TO ORDAIN 12 PRIESTS AND 8 DEACONS ON JUNE 27

The Catholic Diocese of Kitui is set to witness a major spiritual milestone as it prepares to ordain 12 priests and eight deacons during a special ceremony scheduled for June 27, 2026, at St. Charles Lwanga Senior School.

The ordination ceremony will be presided over by Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela, the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, and is expected to bring together clergy, religious leaders, family members, friends, and faithful from different parishes across the diocese.

The candidates for priestly ordination are Rev. Deacon Onesmus Musyoka Soo (Voo Parish), Rev. Deacon Julius Nguthu Muthoka (Museve Parish), Rev. Deacon Josephat Muiya Musyoki (Kabati Parish), Rev. Deacon Benedict Mathina Kyalo (Ikanga Parish), Rev. Deacon Justus Mutua (Kanyaa Parish), Rev. Deacon Gabriel Kamali Mutunga (Boma Parish), Rev. Deacon Maingi Daniel Muthungu (Kamutei Parish), Rev. Deacon Raphael Muasa Nyamai (Kabati Parish), Rev. Deacon Charles Munyoki Joshua (Mulutu Parish), Rev. Deacon Joseph Musee John (Nguutani Parish), Rev. Deacon Boniface Simba Thitu (Nguutani Parish), and Rev. Deacon Nicholas Mutinda Muthoka (Museve Parish).

The eight candidates preparing for diaconate ordination include Acolyte Peter Kimanzi Stephen (Museve Parish), Acolyte Stephen Musyoki Mang’ala (Kavisuni Parish), Acolyte Gregory Kyalo Julius (Mbitini Parish), Acolyte Martin Kilonzo Paul (Kabati Parish), Acolyte Alphonse Wambua (Kimangao Parish), Acolyte Augustus Ngui Wambo (Muthale Parish), Acolyte Patrick Nzango Musili (Migwani Parish), and Acolyte Wilson Mutisya Mwetu (Ikanga Parish).

The upcoming ordination marks a significant moment for the Diocese as the new priests and deacons prepare to dedicate their lives to pastoral service and the mission of the Church.
