Mark Nding’o Tops Kitui MCA Performance Rankings with 92% Score

Kitui MCAs Ranked in New Performance Survey – A new public opinion survey attributed to Ipsos has ranked Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in Kitui County based on their performance between June 2025 and May 2026, revealing sharp contrasts across wards.

According to the poll, Mark Nding’o (Yatta/Kwa Vonza) emerged as the top-performing MCA with a score of 92%, followed closely by Cyrus Musyoka (Ikanga/Kyatune) at 90% and Erastus M. Mbuno (Endau/Malalani) at 88%. Other high performers include Zacchaeus Syengo (Voo/Kyamatu) at 86% and Alphonce Mukwayu (Kyome/Thaana) at 82%, placing them in the “excellent” category of 80% and above.

The mid-tier rankings, categorized as “good” and “fair,” featured MCAs such as Nicholas Mutemi (Kisasi) at 73%, Harrison Mawia (Migwani) at 69%, and Sylvester Kitheka (Matinyani) at 59%. Meanwhile, performance ratings dipped significantly for several wards, with Joseph Kasungi (Waita) scoring 36% and Gabriel Munyao (Kwa Mutonga) at 33%.

At the bottom of the ranking, a number of MCAs recorded poor scores below 30%. These include Maundu Katumbi (Kyanguithya East) at 20%, Joseph Musyoka (Nzambani) at 19%, and Dominic Mwamisyi (Mutito) at 18%. The lowest-rated MCAs—such as Stephen Katana (Nguni), Aron Kilonzi (Mutitu/Kaliku) and Paul Maluki (Kithumula)—scored as low as 10%, falling in the “very poor” category.

The survey, based on responses from 2,000 Kitui County residents, asked participants to rate their MCA’s performance on a scale of 0% (very poor) to 100% (excellent). Ipsos is widely known for conducting public opinion and governance surveys in Kenya and globally.
