Kitui East parliamentary aspirant Henry Nyamai on Saturday joined former Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu and hundreds of residents at Malalani in Endau/Malalani Ward for a thanksgiving and Nzisya celebration held in honour of former Kitui East MP Hon. Mwikya Mweu.

The colourful event brought together leaders, elders and community members who gathered to celebrate Hon. Mwikya Mweu’s contribution to the development and leadership of Kitui East during his time in office.

Speaking during the occasion, Nyamai praised the former legislator for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to serving the people of Kitui East. He noted that Mwikya Mweu’s development record continues to inspire both current and aspiring leaders across the constituency.

Nyamai emphasized the importance of recognizing leaders who have left a lasting impact on their communities, saying such occasions provide an opportunity for residents to reflect on the progress made and the values of servant leadership.

Dr. Irene Kasalu also joined residents in celebrating the former MP, with leaders present lauding Mwikya Mweu for his dedication to education, infrastructure development and community empowerment initiatives that benefited many residents during his tenure.

Nyamai, who is seeking the Wiper Democratic Movement Party ticket for the Kitui East parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, used the occasion to interact with residents and reaffirm his commitment to advancing development and improving the livelihoods of the people of Kitui East.
