Makali Mulu on Wednesday commissioned the completed rehabilitation of 11 classrooms at Kangundo Primary School in Mulango Ward, describing the project as a major boost to the learning environment for pupils in the area.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony at Kangundo, the legislator said improving education infrastructure remains a key priority in his development agenda, noting that modern and conducive classrooms are essential in enhancing academic performance and ensuring learners study in dignity and comfort.
Dr. Mulu said the rehabilitation project involved upgrading the classrooms to acceptable standards through renovation works aimed at improving safety, ventilation and the overall condition of the learning facilities. He reiterated his commitment to supporting schools across Kitui Central through education-focused development initiatives.
Teachers, parents and local leaders who attended the event welcomed the project, saying the improved classrooms will greatly benefit learners and motivate both teachers and pupils. Residents praised the MP for prioritizing education development and called for continued investment in school infrastructure within Mulango Ward and the larger Kitui Central constituency.
The commissioning comes as Dr. Mulu continues to intensify development activities across the constituency amid growing political interest ahead of the 2027 General Election, where he is widely seen as a strong contender for the Kitui County gubernatorial seat.
