Yatta/Kwavonza MCA Mark Nding’o has called on members of the Kitui County Assembly and other stakeholders to stop politicizing the county budget process, saying the budget is meant to serve the people of Kitui and not political interests.

Speaking during an interview on Mutongoi Television, Nding’o expressed concern over the prolonged budget stalemate that has affected service delivery and development programs across the county. He urged leaders to put aside their differences and focus on the welfare of residents.

The MCA apologized to the people of Kitui on behalf of leaders involved in the budget impasse, acknowledging the frustration and uncertainty caused by the delay. He said residents deserve better and should not suffer because of political disagreements among leaders.

Nding’o emphasized that the county budget is a critical tool for development, funding essential sectors such as health, agriculture, water, infrastructure, and education. He noted that continued wrangles over the budget only delay projects and services that wananchi depend on.

He expressed optimism that leaders would eventually find common ground and ensure the budget is passed and implemented for the benefit of all residents. “At the end of the day, we shall deliver the budget to the people of Kitui. Our priority must be service delivery and development, not politics,” said Nding’o.
