TARMACKING OF IKUTHA–KANZIKO ROAD PROGRESSING WELL, SAYS MP RACHEAL NYAMAI

The tarmacking of the Ikutha–Kanziko road is progressing steadily, with area Member of Parliament Racheal Nyamai expressing satisfaction with the ongoing works and reaffirming her commitment to improved infrastructure in Kitui South Constituency.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the project, the legislator said the road upgrade is a major milestone for residents who have for years struggled with poor transport connectivity, especially during rainy seasons.

Hon. Nyamai noted that the road project will significantly ease movement of people and goods between Ikutha, Kanziko and neighbouring areas, while also opening up the region for trade, investment and faster access to essential services.

The MP praised the national government for supporting the project, saying the road forms part of broader efforts to enhance infrastructure development across Kitui South and the larger Kitui County.

Residents welcomed the progress of the works, saying the tarmacked road will reduce transport costs, improve business opportunities and boost economic activities in the semi-arid region.

Once completed, the Ikutha–Kanziko road is expected to transform mobility in the area and strengthen connectivity between rural trading centres and major transport networks within Kitui County.
