Wiper leader H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka is sending signals to those who can read his political mood ahead of the 2027 General Election.
From the body language, it is becoming increasingly clear that his preferred Wiper candidate for Kitui Governor could be Dr. Irene Kasalu, the current Kitui Woman Representative. However, the move is likely to end in premium tears.
According to political grapevine, there is no way the presidential candidate will come from Mwingi and the governor also come from the same region. Such political calculations could easily backfire and cost the Wiper Party the Kitui gubernatorial seat in 2027. Other candidates are keenly watching!
Politics is about numbers, and the Kitui region has a larger voting population than the Mwingi region, regardless of how many candidates emerge from either side. It will be difficult assignment for the political power brokers to let the seat slip out of their region.
What you are likely to see is if wiper party endorses one candidates unfairly, the other aspirants will walk away in protest and they’ are likely to for unholy alliance to defeat wiper candidate in general election
The wiper party preliminaries for kitui gubernatorial contest will be the Most difficult assignment for Wiper leader HE Kalonzo Musyoka, if these top candidates are not handled well the replica of 2017 is likely to repeat in kitui and that’s how wiper will loose the seat!
According to the opinion of many, HE Kalonzo Musyoka is more comfortable with another Governor like that Of Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti in kitui where he can control like puppet while majority of kitui wants Governor who can work for them.
